Octo Telematics is the title sponsor of the British MotoGP Race for the 3rd year in a row
Team mechanics, telematics engineers and drivers are tweaking strategies and motorcycles for this weekend’s classic event: the Silverstone MotoGP World Championship – Octo British Grand Prix MotoGP™.
Silverstone MotoGP Title Sponsor
Octo Telematics has renewed its agreement with MotoGP commercial promoter Dorna Sports SL and will once again be the title sponsor for the MotoGP race that will be held on August 25-27, 2017 at the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire, Great Britain. This is the third time since 2015 that Octo has been title sponsor of the event.
Octo Telematics, which has a strong commitment to the MotoGP, also sponsors the Octo Pramac Racing MotoGP™ Team, and previously agreed a complete sponsorship package for the 2015 and 2016 Silverstone MotoGP Races.
The six-kilometre Silverstone Circuit, which was completely revamped in recent years through a multi-million-pound investment, is one of the most prestigious venues dedicated to motorsports. The new state-of-the-art complex and circuit is one of the fastest circuits on the MotoGP calendar thanks to the 5.9-kilometer circuit with 18 curves.
Telematics in Action
On Saturday Octo will be running a ‘Telematics in Action’ conference withJonathan Hewett, Global Chief Marketing Officer and other high profile industry speakers including: Frost & Sullivan, Aftermarket, Mobileye, Gett and Whoosnap. The speakers will provide insight into emerging trends in telematics and data analysis, future proofing the technology, as well as innovation, the connected car and the autonomous future
Safety First
Telematics allows drivers to improve their driving through the analysis of comprehensive data concerning their driving. In fact, the same concepts and technology that are applied to MotoGP riders to critique and improve their racing performance, are also used to improve everyday driving. Whether it’s on the track or the public highways, Octo is constantly improving algorithms that assess contextual driving to improve safety and driver behaviour.
