The new Octo Pramac Racing Team will make its debut at the Mugello Moto GP race in Italy
Octo Telematics has become the new title sponsor for the Pramac Moto GP Racing Team. Starting from this weekend’s Moto Grand Prix Race at Mugello (Italy), the team will be officially called the Octo Pramac Racing Team.
After the launch of Octo Rider 1 in March, this new technology partnership with Pramac Racing will allow Octo to test and develop new innovative products and services for scooter and motorcycle drivers.
“The Octo Pramac Racing Team provides an ideal platform to enhance the technological know-how of Octo, allowing it to get closer to end-customers by offering innovative products and services. Every day, our technology allows us to collect and analyse thousands of pieces of data per second and when I think of our Data Centre, I imagine that this information travels on our secure networks with the same reliability and speed as the motorcycles racing on the track,” emphasised Fabio Sbianchi, Octo Telematics CEO.
Paolo Campinoti, CEO of the Pramac Racing Team, replied, “It’s very satisfying to be able to link the name of Pramac and our team to that of a dynamic and innovative company such as Octo Telematics.”
Octo Rider 1 is the first telematics-based insurance product that provides scooter and motorcycle drivers with personalised insurance policies based on the “pay as you drive” concept. The advantages provided by Rider 1, however, are not limited to custom-tailored insurance policies, but also include a series of added value services such as motorbike geo-location, which is useful in case of theft, and emergency service alerts for serious accidents.
