Octo Telematics now connects four million drivers worldwide
Octo Telematics, which currently provides 36 per cent of all active usage-based insurance policies around the world, has reached a significant, new milestone: four million connected users.
“Four million connected and active global users is a huge milestone for our business,” emphasizes Fabio Sbianchi, CEO, Octo Telematics. “It demonstrates the extension of our international reach and the growing demand for our technology. We have seen tremendous growth in the telematics industry in recent years, as insurers and consumers become increasingly aware of the value and benefits it offers.”
Moreover, this announcement comes following a year of landmark partnerships for Octo Telematics, including agreements with IBM and The Weather Company for data integration and with General Motors for usage-based insurance policies and fleet management solutions for GM Onstar customers.
To date, Octo’s Insight Centre has collected data on 380 billion kilometres worth of driving and has analysed over 265,000 crashes and accidents to deliver unprecedented and comprehensive insight to all of its insurance partners.
“This data not only provides actionable data to insurance partners, it provides end users, insurers and fleet managers with detailed insight into driving behaviour. It creates an opportunity for our business customers to improve their financial results and allows consumers to reap financial rewards through reduced insurance premiums as a result of safer driving.”
