The Automotive Industry celebrates a new event showcasing European innovation
At the “Dinner for Winner” event, organized July 16 in Brussels for the first time to celebrate the excellence of the European automotive suppliers industry, OCTO Telematics received a special mention for overall innovation for its innovative connectivity approach.
The event, which is organized by CLEPA (the European Association of Automotive Suppliers), AUTOMOBIL PRODUKTION and VDA (the automotive suppliers association and fastest growing association in terms of membership in Brussels), gathered CEOs from the automotive supply industry and EU Commission representatives to celebrate the European industry and present awards to top automotive suppliers and innovators.
A jury composed of CEOs and Presidents of national associations presented the awards in two areas: the Top 100 Automotive Suppliers Global Ranking (including specific mentions for Fastest Risers, Best Newcomers of the Year and Largest Sales Growth) and to the most innovative companies in terms of “green, safe and connected” products.
“These awards are particularly important considering that despite macroeconomic trouble, automotive supply companies are investing in innovative products to safeguard their leadership,” declared Mr. Jean Marc Gales, CEO CLEPA.
The success of the event will help further boost the image of the European automotive supply industry and help to attract investment and young talents to the sector. A skilled and dynamic workforce is an absolute necessity to innovate, develop and manufacture new technologies.
European automotive suppliers are global leaders in innovation due and annually invest €18 billion in Research and Development for a greener, safer and more connected future. For years, European suppliers have registered the greatest number of global patents for innovations in emissions and safety.
